Okay, so having a job (even though it is part time) is a lot busier than I thought. Of course, there is the fact that my big empty house is still covered in boxes and there is nothing hanging on the walls yet. Let's just say that October came and went as quickly as my Halloween costume mustache (just enough time to take some photos). This month we went with a couple of great friends, Julie and Tyler, to the Burg Frankenstein haunt. From what I've heard, it was started by a couple of Americans who realized that Germany did not really do much for Halloween. Germans focus mostly on Fasching, a week-long party that includes dressing up, cutting off men's ties at work, and a lot of other craziness that we look forward to experiencing in the Spring. Anyways, the haunt was not a typical "scary mask jumps from around corner is small dark space" type of haunt. It was somewhat cheesy with a few hilarious staged shows, scary-dressed people wandering around, and a lot of grabbing. Yes, grabbing, as in the actors come up behind you and pull out your pony tail, take your hat, or grab your sides from behind. Not the typical "don't touch the actors, they won't touch you" American-law suit style haunt. It made for a really fun, entertaining experience. Oh, and the props and makeup we're amazing!!
