1) In early November, we did a quick (24 hours) trip to Bruges, Belgium for beer, mussels, and a little sight-seeing. Belgium is, for us, the beer capital of the world with robust beers in a LOT of different flavors and colors. We also stopped for waffles and wandered into a monastery with real-life nuns. It was such a peaceful place in the middle of busy Bruges. Oh, and a random band showed up to play for us too. :-)
2) Later in November, our dear friend, Sophia, visited from the Netherlands and we road-tripped down to Metz, France for our first glimpse of Christmas markets this year. We also checked out the Koblenz Christmas market for Sophia's first taste of Gluwein!

3) In December we put up a little Christmas tree in our house to celebrate but we were looking forward to Christmas with our families in Colorado!
