Two Pears in a Bowl: And then it was 6 months (a 6 countries) later...

Okay, there is no excuse, I've just been plain lazy. I haven't written a post in 6 months! I think the first rule of blogging is that posts are to be written often to keep readers updated. I guess I've just been using the old "As long as the pics are on FB" adage. So.... I will update you all with a list.

1) Heidelberg, Germany

A great place for good food, an amazing stroll along the river, and WW2 history. We spent a weekend with our travel buddies, Tyler and Julie, exploring this great town.

This and the next few pictures are an amphitheater built by the Nazi's to give public speeches. It was never used but is an interesting piece of WW2 history.

2) Poland Girl’s Trip

I got to spend a weekend in Poland with some girlfriends for pottery shopping and some missionary work. It was very interesting to see what life is like behind the former iron curtain. Much different than Germany but better than I thought it would be. I was surprised by the Polish kindness and warmth. Oh, and the pottery was awesome! I forgot to mention the van breakdown and my 1^st experience calling ADAC (like AAA). But when life gives you lemons, ride in a lemonade-colored van ADAC!

3) Ibiza, Spain

Our anniversary trip consisted of a long weekend on the beach in Spain. We enjoyed almost-empty beaches basking in the sun and braving the cold water, it was only April! Spanish food is great, can anyone say Mussels? Oh, and the company was the best part- Happy 4 years!!

4) Italy- Dougherty Style

I cannot begin to explain all that we did without a separate post, so wait on that one. COMING SOON!

5) Paris, France

Another short weekend with friends, Ryan and Melanie. The city of love…oh and overpriced, bad food. After try #2, I still am not sold on Paris. But, we did get to visit the Musee D’Orsay which was fabulous! And we spent a day riding bicycles in Versaille!

6) Czech Republic

A week of camping with teens, digging, sweating, being blessed in abundance, and weird bug bites. This was by far the BEST trip of the year! More details COMING SOON!!

7) Mallorca, Spain Girl’s Trip

I got to spend a week with 3 of my favorite girlfriends. We sunbathed, snorkeled, cliff jumped, and talked all night. It was a precious time of Christian fellowship and spurring each other on in life and our faith. These women are some of the strongest and most amazing women I have ever met. Oh, and we had time to relax and have fun too! Mallorca is one of my favorite trips in Europe ever!
